Hair Straightening Irons

One of the best inventions to mankind is a hair straitening iron. Without it I couldn’t imagine all the different hair styles we would loose. Everybody uses them. Its almost as important as the hair blow-dryer in terms of innovations to the hair fashion industry. If you have noticed, almost every single TV commercial on hair coloring products feature a woman with beautiful dream-like long, silky hair. Well that can only be accomplished with the help of hair straightening irons.

Now a day there are so many types of irons I can’t name them all! But most people use Conair straightening irons, Sedu straighteners, GHD hair straighteners or Solia straighteners. Not that I’m saying that the rest don’t work, they are simply the names I can remember right now, and believe me there a thousands! But you would think that these irons are made of… well, IRON! But they’re not! You see, iron isn’t the healthiest way to bring heat to your hair.

Most conventional hair straighteners are made out of ceramic plates which act very well and don’t produce damage to your hair cut unless you use it wrongly. Some brands use aluminum, although it isn’t as effective as ceramic and they could cause some damage to hair. The higher quality hair straighteners use ceramic tourmaline plates.

Professional hair salons use ceramic and tourmaline irons since they work best and damage your hair less. Although they won’t damage it, they ironing your hair can cause split ends and reduce the thickness of your hair, as well as produce dryness. But that can be very well countered using a professional conditioner.

But don’t think too much on which straightener to buy, all you have to have clear is how much money are you willing to spend, since prices very a lot from types of irons to brands and even length of the plates.
